The RSV rapid test from Axon Lab is used for the qualitative detection of the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). The test is performed with either nasopharyngeal or nasal swab material. The test result is available after only 15 minutes.


The rapid test is only suitable for professional in vitro diagnostics and is excluded from the right of return. The scope of delivery includes 20 test cassettes including accessories.

Test Performance

  • Bring the sample and the extraction buffer to room temperature (15 - 30° C)
  • Remove the test cassette from the sealed foil pouch
  • Place the extraction tube in the workstation and add 10 drops (approx. 500 μl) of the extraction reagent into it
  • Dip the swab sample into the reagent and turn the swab against the wall of the tube for about 10 seconds while applying slight pressure
  • Remove the swab by squeezing it against the wall of the tube and dispose of it safely in a discard container
  • Place the dropper cap on the extraction tube and position the test cassette on a clean and level surface
  • Add 3 drops (approx. 120 μl) of the solution to the designated sample well and start the timer
  • The result can be read after 15 minutes
